Kayak MotherShip ~ Great Bear Rainforest

EXPLORE! CHARTERS offers mother ship sea kayaking trips to remote and spectacular parts of the Queen Charlotte Islands and the Central Coast ~ Great Bear Rainforest along the majestic Coast of British Columbia.

From the comfort of our 80' mother ship explore the waters of Gwaii Haanas and the Great Bear Rainforest while accompanied by our professional, certified kayak guides.

We visit fjords with majestic waterfalls, ancient rainforests, spend time in hidden bays and protected passages, visit ancient villages and kayak in some of the most isolated and amazing areas in British Columbia. You have the choice of kayaking, hiking, beach combing, fishing, or simply relaxing on board and enjoying the scenery.

Our trips are designed to accommodate 8 guests and are 8 days in length. The itinerary is flexible so that we may take advantage of changes in the weather, the ability and desires of our guests, animal and sea life sightings as well as the active participation of the group. We are patient teachers, and enjoy the satisfaction of our guests.

Mother ship supported tours are well suited for guests who wish to experience the immense beauty of the coast with out having to have a camping experience. The trip provides the opportunity to view whales, dolphins, grizzly bears, eagles and other wildlife  from your kayak or from the mother ship.  Go ashore and experience the  history and culture of the first nations people, who have inhabited these lands for tens of thousands of years.   Paddle a kayak or ride in the  Zodiac inflatable in quiet bays and estuaries or up rivers, to see old world  growth so pristine that you can still drink the water from the streams. first_nations_culture

Have the opportunity to throw out a fishing line to catch some of the many available seafood available on the coast. Our cook, will prepare your catch, as you share in the camaraderie with newly found friends.

After a day of kayaking, return to the ship for hot showers and great west coast cuisine. We harvest the sea to supplement the evening banquet.

Single kayaks are preferred by our guides, although in some expeditions a double kayak may be used.
